Voice shout-outs: the ask, and the schedule

Status: ready to post. From IMan, 18 Sept 2026. Nothing here needs Zaal. What it is: desk task 8. Voice notes from people who cannot be in Ellsworth, cut into one track for the DJ deck. Where it plays: in the DJ's set, and it is a natural drop between acts on the stream too.

Record a voice note, fifteen seconds, on your phone, no studio needed. Say your name, where you are in the world, and one line to the crowd in Ellsworth. That is it.

They all get cut into one track that plays on the day, so people standing in a parklet in Maine hear a room full of people who could not be there.

The ask, one to one version

Hey, ZAOstock is 3 October in Ellsworth, Maine, and I know you cannot make it.

Do me a favour. Record fifteen seconds on your phone: your name, where you are, one line to the crowd. I am cutting them all into a track that plays on the day.

No production, no retakes, the rough ones are the good ones. Send it back whenever before the 26th.

Rules for the cut

• Fifteen seconds each, hard. Forty voices at fifteen seconds is ten minutes, which is a set-length track. Forty voices at a minute is unusable.
• Name and place first, message second. The place is what makes it land: a crowd hears how far the day reached.
• Keep the rough ones. Phone audio with a room behind it sounds like a person. Clean audio sounds like an advert.
• No promises in anyone's voice. Nothing that sounds like a sponsor read or a claim about who is playing.
• One track, ordered by distance, furthest away first if we get the spread for it.

Open question, not blocking

Which channel do people send to? The Telegram chat is the one that already exists and where everyone is. IMan collects from there unless Zaal says otherwise.
